Why merry Christmas not happy Christmas??
Both merry Christmas and happy Christmas are logically right, but most often people use merry before the word Christmas. In a world, it's normal to say 'Happy' before any occasion. Example: happy birthday, etc. But merry is unique. Merry implies a more active showing of happiness. Merry means lighthearted, happy, festively joyous, mirthful.
